Readiness comes down to three things: data quality, process maturity, and genuine appetite for change. Most enterprises have gaps in at least one. Rushing past them produces expensive problems. The right starting point is an honest assessment of where you actually are, then identifying two or three areas where AI creates near-term value. We won't push adoption if the case isn't there.
We scope before anything starts: defined deliverables, agreed milestones, fixed fee, confirmed in writing. If something genuinely changes, we handle it through a formal change process. Nothing absorbed silently or added without a conversation.
The disciplines are the same, however the context shifts. Enterprise engagements involve more stakeholders, more governance, more systems, and getting alignment is often a significant part of the work. Growth businesses move faster with less process overhead, where the priority is usually building something that holds up as the business scales.
It starts with being precise about the gap. Not "we need better reporting" — rather "our finance team spends eight hours a week compiling a spreadsheet that should produce itself."
